Page titles and descriptions
Page title
The title that appears in search results and browser tabs.
Tips:
- Keep it under 60 characters
- Include your main topic or keyword
- Make it clear what the page is about
- Each page should have a different title
How to set it:
- Open any page in the editor
- Click the SEO tab in the left sidebar (the globe icon)
- Enter your page title
Page description
The short summary shown below the title in search results.
Tips:
- Keep it between 150 and 160 characters
- Tell the reader what to expect on the page
- Include a reason to click
- Mention your main topic naturally
How to set it:
- Open any page in the editor
- Click the SEO tab
- Enter your page description
Social sharing
Control how your pages look when shared on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and other platforms.
Social sharing settings
- Title -- the title shown in the social preview
- Description -- the description shown in the social preview
- Image -- the image shown in the preview card (1200 x 630 pixels recommended)
Twitter previews are created automatically from the same settings. You can also set Twitter-specific content if you prefer.
How to set it:
- Open page settings
- Click the Social tab
- Upload a social image
- Preview how it looks on Facebook and Twitter

Rich search results
You can add extra information so search engines show richer previews for your pages:
- Go to Site Settings > SEO
- Click Structured Data
- Choose your type:
- Organization
- Local Business
- Article
- Product
- FAQ
Page addresses (URLs)
Tips for good page addresses
- Use clear, readable words
- Include your topic when it fits
- Separate words with hyphens
- Keep them short

Bad: /blog/post?id=12345
Changing a page address
- Open page settings
- Edit the URL Slug field
- Publish to apply the change
Making your content search-friendly
Headings
- Use one main heading (H1) per page
- Use smaller headings (H2, H3) for sections
- Include your topic in headings where it fits naturally
Images
- Add alt text to every image (a short description of what it shows)
- Use clear file names
- ClearCMS compresses images for you automatically
Adding alt text:
- Click on any image
- Click the edit icon
- Type a short description
Links between pages
- Link to related pages on your site
- Use descriptive link text (not "click here")
- This helps visitors and search engines find your content

Tracking your results
Google Search Console
Connect your site to see how it performs in Google search:
- Go to Site Settings > Integrations
- Click Google Search Console
- Follow the steps to verify you own the site
- View what people search for, how often they click, and which pages appear
Built-in analytics
ClearCMS also shows basic stats:
- Page views
- Most popular pages
- Where your visitors come from
- Visitor locations
When you publish a page, ClearCMS fills in any blank titles and descriptions using the page title and the first section's content. You can always replace them with your own.
Checklist before publishing
Before you publish any page, check these items:
- Page title is unique and under 60 characters
- Page description is clear and 150-160 characters
- Social sharing image is uploaded
- Page address is short and readable
- One main heading (H1) on the page
- Alt text on all images
- Links to related pages on your site
- Mobile preview looks good
- Page loads quickly
